Why I tried Cool Sculpting & LA Beauty Skin Center
Throughout my life I have always struggled with my outward appearance, I always felt like I was never good enough and I wanted to change. Like many others no matter what I did to loose weight and get in shape I wasn’t able to get rid of fat in certain areas, the areas that bothered me the most. Even though I was a high school athlete, dancer my entire life, and someone who always like to be in the gym, the results just weren’t there.
Over the past six years I have lost 20lbs and gained 20lbs. Even at my smallest I wasn’t satisfied, there were still areas that bothered me. Once I hit that point I mentally gave up and became comfortable. That is how the 20lbs crept back on.
One thing that I have learned over the years is that all of this doesn’t matter, what matters is who you are. My journey has changed, I am no longer striving to be thin, or fit, or in the perfect shape, I am striving to be the best version of me. I want to feel confident when I am in front of the camera, out with my friends, or speaking at an event. I know that my self-confidence is what will show more than my size and shape.
Now that I have come to that decision and I have found my happy place when it comes to my nutrition and workouts. You’re probably wondering when and how I am going to get to my cool sculpting experience. I promise it is coming!
I recently changed my mindset, my routine, and my food intake. I know that this will take time to see results but I feel like I am mentally ready to achieve the results I have always wanted.
Now, this is where the CoolSculpting comes into play. I never thought that I would be the one to ever do a procedure to help me achieve my goal weight or my appearance, but I did. After doing some research, talking to the team at LA Beauty Skin Center, and attending their CoolSculpting event with official CoolSculpting employees, I knew I had made the right choice.
When I arrived, I was greeted and welcomed into the most beautiful center. After speaking to the team I went back to the room with the CoolSculpting tech, Kristina. Kristina set me up and explained the entire process, even explaining as she was going. She used a large adapter for the CoolSculpting machine and placed it directly on my lower abdomen, after she prepped it of course! The first thing I felt was the suction, it felt like a giant vacuum was sucking all of my fat in. Once the adapter was in placed she turned on the freezing part. For the first few minutes it got really cold and once we were at a good place, I just hung out for 45 mins. The team was great, they hung out in the room with me and got to know me. I could have just turned out the lights and took a nap but I love meeting new people!
After the 45 minutes were up Kristina prepped me to remove the adapter. She mentioned that was probably the worst part, she slowly removed the adapter and my lower abdomen was frozen! For about 2 minutes she sat there massaging the area. I think the best way to describe the feeling is, imagine your bare skin laying in the snow. After that I was on my way and back to work!
For the next few days I was numb and swollen, luckily I had some cute summer dresses I could wear because I couldn’t button my pants! I also lived in leggings on the weekend, like usual. I also had to massage the area for 3 days, twice a day, two minutes at a time. Once I hit the week mark I felt back to normal. I also went to the gym the same day! It really isn’t bad at all. I still felt a little numb for a few weeks, but at least I could wear my pants again.
Since the procedure it has mentally motivated me to eat healthy and work out again because I know I have the opportunity to get some amazing results!
Not only am I excited to see my physical results and how far I can take myself, but I am more excited to see my mental results. I know that once I get to the point where I am happy with what I see in the mirror, I will be more confident. I know it will start to show in my work and how I progress in the future.
Please, please, please remember, CoolSculpting is NOT a easy fix and an excuse to not changed your eating habits. To reach any goal or see you results you need to still watch what you and stay active. Over 5 weeks I stayed on a high protein, low fat and low carb nutrition plan, and worked out 3 days a week. CoolSculpting assisted in my problem area.
To see the best results, it is recommended to treat an area 2-3 times.
