My story and why I took a few months away from my blog
I know I have been a little MIA from blogging over the last few months. I wanted to share on my blog why I took a break and what I have been up to.
As you may or may not know, I have a career in Marketing and a degree in Communications and PR. A week after graduation, I moved to Los Angeles with a dream that I would have a fancy career; quickly I realized it wasn’t that easy. I have now lived in LA of eight and a half years and things are finally falling into place. I have worked in the Marketing department at Universal Pictures for over a year and a half. Working at Universal finally helped me to find my passion again. For the first time in a long time I could focus on enjoying my life, instead of focusing on the paycheck.
Over the last few months a lot of exciting things have started to happen. I first started blogging and working with brands under a year ago. Blogging taught me how to connect with brands, build my brand, and market products and myself. Throughout my experience as a blogger and influencer I decided to take it a step further. I started to take clients and speak at different workshops and events on the topic the I enjoyed. I realized I started loving my life again.
Earlier thing year I launched my business, MAE Marketing Agency. Starting my business was not easy, especially the legal and financial fun stuff. Now that months have gone by, I have an amazing team and solid clients. We are also working on creating a program to help other influencers and bloggers.
While launching my business, I accepted a VP position with Femargent. Femargent is a platform for female entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate, and exchange. You can connect on our app which is launching within the next couple of months. Not only are we an online platform, but we also focus on the importance of an in person community. Currently, I am the VP of Community, I manage and build our community outside of our social platform. It is important to me to get to know the women one on one and build the community in person and online.
Now that I have reached a little bit of balance within my life I am ready to get back to work. I am focusing on producing more content, collaborating with brands, and sharing stories about my career.
If anyone has questions or wants to know more about my career or my story, please reach out to me on social media or email. I am an open book and love guiding and inspiring other!
